Setterholm’s Law
Setterholm’s Law: 1986 ©
“A doctor’s orders are only as good as the nurses carrying them out.”
A doctor can write all the orders he/ she wants to, but if the nurses do not know how to do the treatments, procedures, interventions or administer & manage the medications, and utilize the equipment, then the orders will not be carried out in a therapeutic way. We need knowledgeable, skillfully trained professional nurses who have been educated by experienced, knowledgeable nurses. Most doctors are not trained in the art of healing; they are trained in the science of medicine and rely on nursing to carry out the orders.
